I’ve always thought the coat was so cute, but didn’t order it because it was universally described as being oversized and needing to size down. Well, my normal size is XXS, so sizing down was not an option. With COVID keeping me home, I finally placed an order. It is definitely cute and definitely oversized. However, the shoulders fit well enough, so I decided to have a seamstress see what she could do to make the rest fit okay. She will be taking a total of 6 inches out of the back and sides, and shortening the sleeves. This will add $105 to the cost of the coat, and more alterations might still be necessary. For me, I was willing to spend the extra money, because I really like the coat. I am 5 feet, 80 pounds.Jacket is warm and fits well, except for the length. which is the reason I kept. It is over 6 inches longer than measurements stated for size large, as well as pictured. I am 5'6" , and have fairly long legs, yet it hits me just below mid-calf. i will need to have it hemmed. I kept it because it fits fine everywhere else and it is warm. Just keep in mind the length is not correct.I like the plaid pattern and the design of this knee-length coat. It's soft, warm and perfect for the cold days in New Orleans. The coat is somewhat boxy and larger than I expected. I am 5'7", 140lbs, usually in size 2-4 or Small. For this coat that I ordered from Amazon, a size XS (0-2) is still boxy at the waist but fits well at the shoulders. It looks better if left unbuttoned and in high heels. I also ordered the same coat from Nordstrom before I found this on Amazon, but Amazon offered a better price which was almost $80 cheaper. So I ended up returned the one I ordered from Nordstrom. If you like it, buy a smaller size from Amazon.After reading reviews I decided to go with a size M. I am 5'3, about 160lbs, maybe more (curvy/muscular build. Thick but height/weight proportionate; aside from wearing a D cup) The coat fits PERFECTLY and is extremely warm in NYC weather. Because of the attached faux hoodie, there are times when I walk my dogs in the am where I honestly just throw the coat on over my sports bra and go outside just like that!Even in a Medium, the coat still has plenty of room. I probably could have gone with a small (being that the waist could use a little more cinch since theres no belt) but overall, I absolutely Love this coat?I ordered this in a large and it was way too big. Now I have a medium and it fits perfectly. I’m usually wear a size 12.I’ve worn it once and already received compliments. It’s such a cute style, dressy and casual all at the same time.If you are thinking of purchasing this coat definitely do a price check and compare. The price of this coat fluctuates significantly. I got it for a really great price on Amazon. The price is back up to original but keep watch and it will likely go back down. The coat is definitely a keeper!I absolutely fell in love with this coat, however had to return ordered the medium and it was too big like for someone 6ft tall. I’m 5’2 and it looked like I had a big robe on. The sleeves were too long and the shoulder area seemed that I could fit football gear on with it. The quality of this coat is excellent and the pic does not show the details as in person. Would of tried for a small, but would rather wait to see if I could find it in person to try on before committing to buy again and having to go thru the return process.I think it’s classy. Love it being boxy but it fit me just right through the chest. I’m 130, 5’5, thing frame. Ordered small. If you want it in at the waste then skip buying this. It’s square.After reading reviews I Purchased this jacket in a medium. It fit nicely everywhere except for the armpit area so I decided to try out the large. The large was just way too big everywhere so I returned that one as well. Beautiful pattern and looks well-made but the sizing just did not work for me.It fits a bit big and I love the oversized look. It’s well made. It’s not worth over 200$, you can find something of equal quality else where but, it is a nice coat. I usually would order a L but went with a M and I’m glad I did.Ladies must have wardrobe. I highly recommend this to everyone who loves style and comfort.Very warm and doesn’t itch!!
