Description

The cutaway morning coat began in use in the early 1800s strictly as a coat for a gentleman's morning ride. But over the course of the century, the coat grew in popularity for daytime use and eventually supplanted the frock coat as the fashion of the day. Now used for very formal events, they are often seen being worn by the British aristocracy and other nobby gents. Our version has peak lapels with one exterior breast pocket and one button to secure the front of the coat. Two interior breast pockets offer a place to hold a gentleman's necessities. The back features two matching buttons while the tails have a single vent.Fashioned from a blend of 72% cotton, 20% polyester and 8% rayon.Imported. Dry Clean Only. Available in sizes 36 - 56 Regular and 38 - 56 Long. Longs are approximately 2" longer in the back and sleeves. Our coats are made with typical American sizing, meaning your chest measurement (in inches) is the size you should choose. To measure your chest: Raise your arms slightly and measure just under your arms. Be sure to cross over the shoulder blades and the fullest part of the chest. If your belly measures larger than your chest, use your belly measurement for coat size.Complete the look with a Historical Emporium Men's Vest, Historical Emporium Men's Dress Shirt, and Historical Emporium Men's Necktie! This is a very well made morning coat. The material is very nice and the tailoring is very nice. I was surprised that the sizing was very spot on, I figured I would need to have it altered a bit. But chest size, sleeve length etc, was great. I'm a big and tall guy at 6'4" and 250 so finding a jacket that fits well can be a challenge. It's also a very handsome jacket, and I have recieved numerous compliments on it.Paired with a pair of grey and black striped trousers, also purchased from Historical Emporium, it makes a perfect Morning Suit.It arrived very quickly as well.I highly recommend it and Historical Emporium based on thisxjacket and a pair if trouser I purchased.
